Fourth graders will be going and a camping trip on Monday, March 31. We ask that all of you get permission slips back to school so we can have an accurate count of students who will attend. The cost is $40 and we ask that, to the extent possible, all students pay the full amount. Please talk to either of us if this is not possible. It's important to us that all of our students and their families know that ALL who wish to attend, will.
Los estudiantes del cuarto grado están invitados a un paseo de campar el día lunes 31 de marzo. Les pedimos que entreguen el permiso en cuanto puedan para poder tener buena idea de cuantos estudiantes y padres irán. El costo es $40 y quisieramos que cada estudiante pague la cantidad entera. Favor de comunicarse con nosotros si no le es posible pagar los $40. Queremos que sepan que cada estudiante que quiera asistir, lo podrá hacer.

Trips Galore-Paseos y mas paseos
The week of February 25 will be a buy one for fourth graders and their families. On Tuesday we will be traveling to the Mello Center at Watsonville High School to listen to a symphony. Unfortunately, there is only space for 3 parents to join us as chaperones so we will be choosing on a first come first serve basis. then on Wedsenday evening at 6:30 we will be having an informational meeting regarding our overnight trip to Sempervirens Ourtdoor School in Santa Cruz. Finally, on Thursday will be our Mission San Juan Bautista trip. We seem to have enough drivers now and the kids are really looking forward to it. Let's cross our fingers for a dry day.
La semana del 25 de febrero será muy ocupada para los estudiantes del cuarto grado y sus familias. El martes iremos a la sinfonía al Teatro Mello en la Preparatoria de Watsonville. Desafortunadamente, solo 3 adultos nos podrán acompañar a este paseo. Aceptaremos los primeros tres padres que entreguen la hoja que mandamos con los niños hoy. El miércoles, tendremos una junta informativa sobre el viaje de campar a la Escuela Sempervirens en Santa Cruz. Luego el jueves será nuestro paseo a la Mision de San Juan Bautista. Parece que por fín tenemos bastantes choferes. ¡Ahora solo nos toca hacer changuitos para que no llueva ese dia!

Matematicas-Math
Estas son las areas de estudio actuál en las matemáticas:

•Español/Spanish-fracciones/fractions, multiplicación de doble dígito/double digit multiplication, algebra con fracciones y división/algebra with fractions and division
•Inglés/English- división/division
Aún hay estudiantes que están batallando en las matemáticas por no saberse las tablas de multiplicación. Si su hijo/a es uno de ellos, les pedimos que por favor practiquen con sus hijos en casa.
There are still a few students who have not memorized all their times tables and it's causing them great difficulties in math. Please make time to practice with your child if he/she is one of them.

Paseo al San Juan Bautista/ San Juan Bautista Field Trip
El jueves 28 de febrero, iremos a un paseo a la misión San Juan Bautista. Este paseo reforzará nuestro estudio actual de la época de las misiones en California. Gracias a los familiares que han indicado que podrán manejar el día del paseo. Próximamente mandaremos las hojas de permiso para los niños. ¡Sabemos que será un excelente paseo!
On Thursday, February 28 we will be going on our first field trip to the Mission San Juan Bautista. This trip will reinforce our current study of the Mission Era of California. We thank all those family members who indicated that they can drive the day of the trip. We will be sending permission slips home soon. We know this will be a great trip!
